ETHERNET connection options available soon! Ethernet connection provides real-time (as it happens) data access of home energy consumption via your existing home network or the internet.   Simply plug a standard  RJ-45 cable from the EtherBee™ to your router and apply power using the included wall transformer.   The EtherBee™ adaptor communicates wirelessly with the wireless ECM-1220-X models. The communication is then coupled to the LAN via the EtherBee™'s RJ-45 connection to a area network (LAN). The EtherBee™ adaptor's wireless communication is fully compatible with the "Digi®"  XBEE® modules. (digi.com) The EtherBee™ comes programmed with Digi's "ZB" version of firmware (coordinator). This enables communication using the ZigBee® protocol. ZNet-2.5 version of the Digi firmware is optionally available. ZigBee® is a registered trademark of  ZigBee Alliance
