How to connect water meter?
I've finally got the water meter installed and working. How am I supposed to hook this up to the GEM? It has three wires coming out of the meter (red, blue, white). Which wires do I connect? And, where on the GEM should I connect them?

Page 23 of the GEM Installation manual will show you which PJ offers what support. Typically for a dry contact channels 3 or 4 are used. Devices which send voltage (3~24 VDC) should only be attached to channels 1 or 2 respectfully.
Those who require more dry contact can use a relay to connect to channels 1 & 2 to offer the same as channel 3 & 4.
What is the model pulse water meter do you have and did you purchase it from Brultech? Once everything is connected correctly you will be able to monitor, track, and recall historic events like these below.

Re: How to connect water meter?
It was the model from brultech. Playing around with the connections on channel 4 I found that I can connect either red and white or blue and white and get pulses out.
As the meter is reading in liters and I want gallons I configured the multiplier so the output should be in gallons. The overview page and the consumption under channels appear to display the total gallons correctly. However the Power and Live under channels appear to display pulses per minute instead of gallons/minute.
I just ran a test as I had water flowing and could watch it. The Power tab shows that I had 5 gal/min flowing for 20 minutes. However, the consumption shows a little over 20 gallons consumed. I know the amount of water that came out was much closer to 20 gallons and not the 100 gallons that 5 x 20 would give me.

What's your multiplier set to? It should be set to 0.264172 (1 litre = 0.264172 gallons). Is it possible you put the opposite in (1 gallon = 3.78541 litres)? That would give you around ~20 gallons per 5.slords wrote:As the meter is reading in liters and I want gallons I configured the multiplier so the output should be in gallons. Re: How to connect water meter?
The multiplier is correct. Having watched things for a few days now it appears that the rate (power tab) is ticks/min and consumption is in actual gallons.
Here is an example from this morning:
Tue, Dec 12 5:00 AM to Tue, Dec 12 6:00 AM
Power Tab
---------
Max: 10 gal (per min.)
Min: 0 gal (per min.)
Avg: 2.52 gal (per min.)
2.52 gal/min * 60 minutes = 151.2 gal
Consumption Tab
---------------
40.68 gal
40.68 / 151.2 = 0.269...
I also believe that the Live Tab is showing ticks instead of gallons as well.

Re: How to connect water meter?
It looks like I also need more significant digits for the Power tab avergage at first glance. There's a fairly big difference between 0.09 and 0.094. I'll have to change it to 4 digits.
I'll look to make sure the multiplier is being properly applied to the line graph.
