Re: Pulse Output for water meter
I know this is a old thread but it goes to show you how long I have been researching into this project.
Can this device be used to monitor the water meter?

If so, does it require any other parts such as a external power supply? If not, which pins on the GEM will this device be connected to?
Much Thanks

It should with a little hacking, there's a diagram a page back that shows how to hook it up.Teken wrote:I know this is a old thread but it goes to show you how long I have been researching into this project.

I think it requires an external power supply as per the diagram (N Type).

Re: Pulse Output for water meter
I will purchase one and report back. If it works this will be a great solution to monitor water flow. I will document the project for others to follow thanks for the feed back.ben wrote:It should with a little hacking, there's a diagram a page back that shows how to hook it up.Teken wrote:I know this is a old thread but it goes to show you how long I have been researching into this project.

So I'm in the planning stages of installing a whole-house water filter system and am considering adding a water meter (after my utility meter) that I can connect to my GEM. Any reason this guy wouldn't work?

the water meters from ekm metering work very well with a GEM. so do their gas meters. fwiw, ekm has been a good vendor for us.rnoble wrote:So I'm in the planning stages of installing a whole-house water filter system and am considering adding a water meter (after my utility meter) that I can connect to my GEM. Re: Pulse Output for water meter
Thanks! I got the meter installed (as well as a whole-house water filtering system)... I'm getting pulses and can see the bar graph... Is there anyway to see the cumulative water usage with a DB? I was hoping the meter would help me know when to change my filter cartridges. Is this possible with SEG?mwall wrote:the water meters from ekm metering work very well with a GEM. so do their gas meters. fwiw, ekm has been a good vendor for us.rnoble wrote:So I'm in the planning stages of installing a whole-house water filter system and am considering adding a water meter (after my utility meter) that I can connect to my GEM. The bar chart for daily/weekly/monthly/year should be cumulative on the DB (assuming you mean DashBox). The line graph will show flow.rnoble wrote:Thanks! Ben, could I be missing some modules? I don't have the bar chart module available on my dashbox. Below are my "Installed Modules"rnoble wrote:Perfect. Thanks!

Ahh I meant in the Loads section. Give kWh Column a try.rnoble wrote:Ben, could I be missing some modules? I don't have the bar chart module available on my dashbox. Below are my "Installed Modules"rnoble wrote:Perfect. Thanks!
