How to see peak loads over a long period?

I'm about to have a whole-house NG generator installed. I selected the size based on spot-checks of data. Now that I've been using the Green Eye / Dashbox for almost a year, is there a way to see the peak total utility demand over a whole year?

Under Consumption/Custom in Channels you can do Peak Watts. There looks to be a bug on the Yearly chart I'll fix up today that's summing instead of taking the max watts.

Yeah, I about panicked when I saw that so far this year, I peaked at 250,000 watts. It looks like the bug extends over to the left hand side summary where it says for this month, the peak was 219,248W.

Is the value shown in the bars (not on yearly, though) based on instantaneous peak, or over some averaging-interval?

As an example, on that graph below, do I interpret that as "at some instant on January 8, 13065W were demanded?" It seems like it, because if I drill down to hourly, I can see that the same peak is during the 9:00AM hour on that day.

If that's it, then I think I ordered too large a generator!

Yeah, you got it. It's the highest average between packets.

Just need to work out the data in the left-hand box still. The yearly data has been fixed.

Hey, Ben.

Are you still noodling around with this part of the code? I updated to 4.2.4c11 today, and things are amiss.

1) When doing Yearly Peak Power, it indicates July is the peak for 2022 with 21,485 kW. But when I switch to Monthly and go to July, the peak day is only 13,696 kWh on July 15. It stays at 13,696 when I switch to Daily and select that specific date.

2) The left side no longer shows anything except the selected timeframe. No data in Peak mode. It does show data in other modes like kWh.

3) The title at the top of the graph never doesn't change when using "Peak" mode and navigating between months/weeks/days using the arrows. For example, I just switched to Yearly/Peak, but the title of the graph reads: Mon, Jul 18 12:00 AM to Mon, Jul 18 11:59 PM because what I had selected before switching to Peak was Daily/kWh for that date.

Doing the same here, Monthly looks to be correct based on the day data table. I'll look into it.

The bug is adding extra wattage to the 2nd last month on the graph.

Problem with the half-hour is it'll have to be based on the minute data which may be slow to load over longer periods. I can try out some queries and see what happens.

We're storing peak watts on the minute, hour, and day tables. Every comparison is taken from packet-to-packet readings.
