MQTT data accuracy

Post by strangely » Sun Jan 08, 2023 6:19 pm

I started playing around last night with MQTT data and have it being forwarded to a Raspberry PI from the dashbox. I'm using Mosquito as the broker on the Pi.

Looking at the data it's producing I think I'm getting some spurious readings where the temp is spiking from a normal reading, to a much higher one momentarily. It looks like it's doubling. It does this for both my temp sensors.

My Dashbox is running 4.2.4c15d and my GEM has Com version 5.39 (as derived from what my dashbox says). Not sure of Eng version, but it was current at the time of me updating the Com firmware and I think was 1.49 IIRC.

Secondary issue, which I guess I'll raised elsewhere is I can't get into the GEM right now via the Network utility for some reason (to be able to update it, or view Eng version). It's on the network and pingable, but won't respond and does not seem to have any ports open if I scan it. Tried to reboot it with no joy either.

How many temperature sensors do you have hooked up and what's the value it spikes to? It might be a error from the sensor (failed read).

What network module is on the GEM?

I only have two sensors (on short wires). They both show these spikes and it seems the value doubles what the real temperature is.

Network Module is the plain ethernet one.

Anything else we can do troubleshoot this?

I've likely got it fixed here. I'll try to push a version out tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay, can you see if https://brultech.com/software/files/dow ... _4c15e.img fixes the issue?
