Done. Seems closer - both "status@err" and the energy monitor is now showing no packets from 019 and the log is showing only stuff from 018 (no 019). So atleast everything is agreeing now. Just nothing from 019 (except :8002 still brings up its setup page). Note: :8001 still times out however :)

Yeah that's a fair bit better.

Made an edit to my last post:

In terms of 8001, I would check the Rx line back to 18. Sounds like the Tx line is working fine since it's getting packets.

Definitely not getting packets from 8002, can you try enabling Secondary Packet Format to Bin-32-NET under Packet Send?

I'll pull out my continuity tester and check that line later. As for the 019, I set it to bin-32-net (5) rather than 4. No changes. I'm assuming the Rx/Tx is fine on the 019 since I can get through to the setup page on 8002?

Yeah, Tx/Rx is fine. Did you set it on Secondary Packet Format or Primary Packet Format? If Primary, try setting both Primary and Secondary that way we can force a packet out of COM2 just in case.

I had set only the secondary - no packets. I just set both primary/secondary to 5 - still no packets

The GEMs have a Sys LED and a COM LED. The Sys LED is the top-left LED if mounted switch at the bottom.

The Sys LED should be solid green with a red flash every X seconds (X being your packet send interval).

Can you make sure the red flash is showing up?

If the red flash isn't showing up, make sure that Real-Time is enabled. It was on the Status screens you posted earlier but I guess it could've become disabled. It's under "Packet Send" also.

Okay - so on the 019, I set primary to 5 and secondary to disabled. Now the dashbox is seeing packets. If I set secondary to 5, it stops seeing packets. Very weird.

I went back to the 019, set primary back to 4 - and dashbox is still seeing the packets! woohoo.

Note: the status still says "status@err" but nothing is listed on it..

Given you have Ethernet, leave it like that. That opens up Primary Packet Format for whatever you want (Home-Assistant, BTMon, etc).

The Status Err is likely because you have no Main channels defined. Total Consumption is composed of all channels marked as main.

Yep - as soon as I set the mains the err went away. Thanks for all your help - I'll start setting it all up now!
