Dashbox issues

Post by tmrobert8 » Sun Feb 12, 2023 1:16 pm

I'm finally trying to setup my dashbox with two GEMs (018 and 019). 018 is connected to com1 on the dashbox and 019 is connected to com2. See bottom for status pages on both. I'm not sure what to do at this point because I'm getting contradictory information from the dashbox

On the status page - it says "Status Err" and shows no packets received from 018

However, on the settings page. It shows packets for 018 but none for 019:

However, if I go to the logging page - I see packets for both 018 and 019:

And finally if I go to dashbox:8001 (the 018), I get invalid http response. However if I go to dashbox:8002 (the 019), I successfully get the setup page.

Are you on COM1 or COM2 GEM-side? If on COM1, move your STS cable to COM2 on both GEMs.

COM1 runs your Ethernet module so if you have the DashBox connected there also you'll get conflicting Rx signals.

Check Settings->System->Change Baudrates. They both should say GreenEye Monitor detected.

Try setting Secondary Packet Format to #4.

Make sure you click the "Exit Setup Mode" and close the tab after. Setup Mode will stop packets from being sent for up-to 5 minutes.

Swore I checked that already - but com1 was set to 19200. Changed it to 115200 and the baud rate status shows both green eye detected.

However,
I still have "Status Err" - although clicking on it shows no erros (no data available in table) and the Energy Monitors still show 018 as getting packets (on com1 of the dashbox) and 019 still not receiving them (on com2). View Logs still shows packets coming from both (018 and 019). Here's the updated energy monitor screen:

EDIT: port 8001 still timesout. port 8002 still comes up with the 019 setup page. I've set both the secondaries to 4 - no change
EDIT2: I don't know if it matters - but clicked on either (018/019) system or channel in the energy monitors always shows "Failed to load settings, please try again"

Weird that they're both showing RS232 #2 also. Can you give the DashBox a reboot?

Rebooted - the energy monitors show 018 on #1 (8001) again and 019 on #2 (8002) again. If I go to 8001, it times out even though I'm getting packets. If I go to 8002, I get 019's setup even though it says there are no packets..

Make sure you're logged into settings then go to

http://dashbox-ip/index.php/pages/settings/clearMemory

Once done, check the Energy Monitors page again and post a screenshot.

In terms of 8001, I would check the Rx line back to 18. Sounds like the Tx line is working fine since it's getting packets.

With 8002, check 1019s voltage channel under Channels. Is it showing a graph points for the last few minutes?
