Dashbox plugged into 12v. any chance of recovery?

Post by vilord » Sun Jun 18, 2023 12:31 pm

As in the subject, I discovered that the reason my dashbox has been inaccessible for the last few weeks is that after some cleaning in the laundry room where it lives, it (and the GEM) were plugged into 12VDC instead of 5VDC. Fortunately the GEM hasn't seemed to have cared, just kept on working. Dashbox though is now dark to the world.

Any chance I'll pull off the cover and just need to replace a capacitor or resistor or something, or is it likely done for?

Thanks!

Shoot me an email and I can send over more information on what to check.
