I am considering the Brultech ECM-1240 system, and have a question about combining two features: net metering and spilt 400 amp utility service. There are two 200 A panels fed from the utility meter. The solar PV generator is back-fed through a circuit breaker on one of the panels. Therefore, one panel will always appear to be a consumer (the one without the back-feed), and the other will sometimes be a generator.

I suppose it is more of a software question as to whether the net demand calculated correctly. Does anyone else have this arrangement?
